Call Eastern Shore Crisis Response to be connected to a trained crisis phone counselor who will listen and provide confidential support and behavioral health help and resources at no cost. The phone counselor will help determine if a mobile crisis team needs to come to you, or if you need an urgent care mental health appointment or other community services

Individuals in need of an urgent mental health care appointment must reside in one of the nine counties of the Eastern Shore: Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, & Worcester.

The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) is committed to ensuring that individuals in crisis have access to immediate and appropriate care. Crisis services aim to deescalate the severity of a person’s level of distress or need for urgent care associated with a mental health or substance use disorder, and to stabilize the individual for referral to continuing care. Maryland 211 offers crisis intervention and linkage with local community resources, information, and referrals, as well as telephone support for anyone experiencing a crisis. Assistance is available by phone, text, and chat.

Call or text 911 for situations that require immediate assistance from the police, fire department, or ambulance.

Situations which require 911 include: A fire, a crime, especially if in progress, a car crash, especially if someone is injured, a medical emergency, especially for symptoms that require immediate medical attention
